lilD: Your Favorite Rapper’s Favorite Radio Personality
“I never wanted to do radio.” This is what lilD tells people when asked how she started in broadcasting. The contrary couldn’t be truer today, though.
Winning radio rap contests landed her a co-host gig on the night show in Shreveport, LA, on KMJJ in 2005. After eight months of learning and observing for free, she finally began earning a paycheck.
After eleven months of hustling, lilD’s first radio dream came true. She was given the late-night position on KMJJ. The AftaParty was her baby, and like such, she nurtured it, paying attention to every detail, to make sure it was as close to perfection as it could be. People began to take notice in this twenty-year-old’s talent, and let her know.
In 2008, she accepted the night position in Toledo, Ohio, at WJZE Hot 97-3. The city quickly embraced her, evident by the various successful promotional concepts that were conceived from her, and the elevation of the ratings since her arrival.
2011 saw lilD take her talents to Cleveland’s WENZ 107.9, and her marketing and branding has been expanded even further. “Word Eye Heard Radio” can now be heard seven days a week. “Word Eye Heard TV Sketch Comedy” can be seen every Wednesday. A hustler by nature, lilD also writes artists’ bios, edits artists’ music for performances, hosts community events, and volunteers at the Salvation Army. She’s also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. But the thing she is most proud of is her website, TheWordEyeHeard.com.
The Word Eye Heard is a place people can go to get a comedic spin on the latest entertainment news, become familiar with up and coming artists, and keep up with lilD on her fast track to the top. With her down-to-earth personality, and “keep-it-real” attitude, lilD naturally attracts the target audience wherever she is. And wherever she chooses to go, success will follow.
