Oprah Explains Her Decision To Interview The Kardashians
Oprah explains why the Kardashian family was fascinating enough for her to interview. Facing criticism on her choice of guests recently, Oprah went to Facebook to post a letter stating she’s never met any of the Kardashians (before the interview) nor watched an episode of the reality televison famed “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”. Is this just a ratings ploy or natural interest? Either way, this is sure to make for good television.
The Kardashians have made it to Oprah!
This coming Sunday, Oprah will be airing her interview with the Kardashian family that was filmed early this week when she made a visit to their home. Although fans of the famous family couldn’t be happier, Oprah has been catching some heat for her decision to do the interview.
In a letter that she posted on her facebook, Oprah explained to her fans that even though she had never met the Kardashians or watched the show, she was intrigued by America’s fascination with the family which prompted her decision to conduct the interview.
She wrote:
Ok my friends I had the longest interviewing session I can ever recall, talking to ALLLLLLLL the Kardashians. I had never met them, nor seen the show. I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season. I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them. Are they completely ego centered? Are they really “famous for being famous” or is there something more?
I “GOT IT” … those answers +more. Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty. Who surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.
Everyone who’s asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me.
Please note that this show will air Sunday at 8/7 central not its usual time. Followed by Part 2 of my conversation with 50 Cent at 9/8c where he talks about things you wouldn’t imagine coming from him. Meditation. Outgrowing his audience. What really matters now. I had a great eye opening experience with him and released a lot of my preconceived notions and judgement. I’m loving this NEXT CHAPTER I get to do for myself what I intended for you the audience: Open the heart space, expand the way we see things, especially each other.
