Beyonce & Tina Knowles Address Surrogate Rumors

Last year, after Beyonce’s stomach appeared to collapse as she took her seat during an Australian talk show interview, the internet started swirling with rumors. ‘Beyonce’s faking her pregnancy’, ‘There’s no way a baby is in there‘ and ‘She definitely has a surrogate‘, was the water cooler talk in company break rooms and gossip fodder across the net over the next few months leading up to Blue Ivy Carter’s birth.   Although Beyonce later revealed in a sit down with Katie Couric that she wasn’t bothered by the silly rumors, her mom definitely wasn’t amused.

Now, as we’ve all grown to love Baby Blue (what little bit we’ve seen of her), People mag has thrust the fake pregnancy rumors back into the spotlight in their recent interview with Beyonce for the ‘Most Beautiful People issue’. When Bey was asked if she was hurt by the rumors that she had a surrogate carry her child, she replied, ‘It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy. [I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’. Tina, however, had a little more to say.

“I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months. As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”

And in regards to the folding dress debacle (which was believed my many to be a prosthetic belly), Tina explained:

It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid. Tina definitely shut that down quick!

In other news, Beyonce and Jay were spotted by a few New Yorkers yesterday while taking Blue Ivy for a casual walk along the Pier. via – Twitter
